The addition of a sub-woofer will add weight and authority to any stereo system, extending the frequency response much further than conventional bass drivers. With Wharfedale subwoofers, the built-in amplifiers are engineered to provide a powerful response at these frequencies, while a continuously variable crossover provides seamless integration with the other speakers in the system. All models offer a phase adjustment for the additional matching of the sound.

In a multi-channel system, a sub is recommended to handle the ‚¬˜LFE‚¬„ or Low Frequency Effects channel of Dolby Digital or DTS sound. The PowerCube provides the impact and dynamics to really bring the soundtrack to life without ever sounding boomy or woolly.

The cabinet construction of the new D8 has been aestetically enhanced, with new high-gloss lacquered front baffles and cosmetically enhanced veneers. Not only is this a significant improvement, the new look is designed to match perfectly with the new and award winning Diamond 200 series, which is already gaining outstanding reviews internationally.

Aside from newly improved aesthetics, the two new subwoffers are built to elecate the performance of any AV setup. The D8 features an active feflex subwoofer system in a vented box allowing it to pack speed, punch and excellent low frequency extension.
