We at Epson have exercised creativity and taken on challenges to deliver products and services that exceed the expectations of our customers around the world based on the efficient, compact, and precision technologies we have developed since the company was founded in 1942.
In 2016, Epson established the Epson 25 Corporate Vision. This document describes a vision of how we want Epson to be in 2025 and maps out a path to get there. In line with this vision, we are driving innovations in four areas (inkjet, visual, wearables, and robotics) where we can capitalize on our strengths and existing business infrastructure and resources. Our inkjet innovations are improving environmental performance in every printing segment, from the office to the commercial and industrial printing sectors, while our dry-process office papermaking system enables paper to be recycled right on site. Our visual innovations will revolutionize communications with projected images. The innovations we drive in wearables and robotics will yield wearable products that are fun to wear and use, and robots that support and assist humans. Our work will help to create a sustainable and affluent world, a world in which repetitive manual labor and wastes of time and effort are a thing of the past and where people can exercise their creativity and enjoy health and safety. We have created a materiality matrix that identifies issues and priorities for achieving sustained growth together with the global community. We compared our initiatives against the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) adopted by the UN in 2015 and selected those that overlapped. We have declared our intention of addressing 13 of the SDGs where we can make an impact. We will continue to improve our technology to achieve the Epson 25 Corporate Vision and be an indispensable company that plays a central role in realizing a better world.
